Last Tuesday, 8/5, we finally went back to reality - Academic Year 2014-2015 has just begun! And just in the first day, a lot of surprises were revealed and shocked us! We knew that we will have Ms. Luzviminda Quirong as our adviser this year. Other big things that surprised us are as follows:
1. The Rotation of Science Teachers Each Quarter
I think this rotation will give us just the best, and only the best, from the experts of different fields of Science.
We will have Sir Richmond Calunsag (coordinator of Science Department) to teach us Physics and Earth Sciences for the first two quarters. After him, we will have our Grade 7 Science teacher back - Ms. Katrina Villar to teach us Chemistry. And finally, our adviser, Ms. "Luz" will be teaching us Biology. It's our first time to have her. =)
2. Who Is Our Real English Teacher?
That was the question that confused all of us. A period before our English class, we asked one of the teachers from English Department, Sir Kenneth, if he will be our teacher. He simply said no. But when the English period came, he entered our classroom with his things. After a couple of minutes, Miss Johanna Manuel, more commonly known as "Ms. Yo!" entered our room with her things too. We found out that the things weren't Sir Kenneth's. Ms. Yo just asked him to bring them to the class to see our reaction. Well, we are all so happy to have Ms. Yo inside our classroom for the third year! <3
3. Do We Have a Piano Class?
We thought we don't have a Piano class because we kept hearing about Guitar class. But then we have! Nikki, Athena, Roda, Jeff, Sophia, and I signed up for this class having Ms. Jaenna Peralta as our teacher who took her mastery in the US! She also teaches Voice students.
4. The Ever Energetic Mr. Nifas is in the House
We kept asking Mr. Melvin Nifas about our Social Studies teacher but he simply answered us with, "I am not your teacher." But a hint was given to Jane's sisters, Celeen. According to Jane, Sir Melvin told her sister that he will be teaching one of her siblings. Well, it can't be the other two siblings because they are still in K-3. Myra, on the other hand, kept contradicting Jane.
During the first SS class meeting, Myra went out of the room and tried to look for our SS teacher when she suddenly bumped with Sir Richmond. Sir declared that it will be Sir Melvin. That time, my heart was really pounding.
5. New Line Up of Clubs
Yesterday, 8/8, from 1:50 to 3:00, the clubs were presented to the students. We stayed inside the Computer Laboratory.
There were different clubs such as Junior Student Coordinating Board, Mathemagicians, Sci-enthusiasts, Sketchers, Band, STRIPES, Book Lovers, Athletics, Football, and many other clubs. Well, Athena, Myra, and I made a solid choice of going to STRIPES, the official publication / school news paper of MITIS, and the club moderator is Ms. Charms, the newest addition to the English Department.
I'm very excited of what this year has to offer and give all of us! I'm very excited for the infinite possibilities and chances that we will encounter! This year's gonna be tough and fun! PREPARE!
